The line of work of the Pretos-Velhos and Pretas-Velhas are known as the Linha das Almas. All Guides who work in this line are under the vibration of the Orixá Obaluaê. Since its phalanges receive the vibration of other Orixás. In this way we have Pretos-Velhos and Pretas-Velhas who work in the vibration of Ogum, Oxum, Iansã and so on.
About the Pretos-Velhos
We cannot say that these spirits are directly the same Old Blacks from slavery. Within the cyclical process of reincarnation they went through many previous lives: black slaves, philosophers, doctors, rich, poor, enlightened, and others. However, to help those in need, they chose or were chosen to return to earth in the incorporated form of Preto-Velho. Many were not even black, yet they chose to return to this archetype as their mission.
According to their phalanx, the Pretos-Velhos are counselors showing life and its paths; for others, they are psychologists, friends, confidants, spiritual mentors; in necessary situations, they are the exorcists who fight with their mirongas, herbal baths, fire points, riscados points and others, supported by the exus undoing works. They also fight negative forces (evil), obsessive spirits and kiumbas.
Matas Line
The line of work of Caboclos and Caboclas is known as Linha das Matas. All Guides who work in this line are under the vibration of Orixá Oxóssi. Since its phalanges receive the vibration of other Orixás. In this way we have Caboclos and Caboclas who work in the vibration of Ogum, Oxum, Iansã and so on.
About the Caboblos
Caboclos represent diverse ethnicities and cultures from around the world, bringing with them the wisdom of ancient forest peoples. With a deep connection to nature, they use their knowledge of plants, herbs, and roots to perform healing and spiritual cleansings. Known for their physical and spiritual strength, Caboclos carry an energy of courage and determination that empowers those who seek their guidance.
Although the entities of the Linha das Matas represent the spirits of peoples connected to nature, such as Indigenous peoples, their spiritual journey does not necessarily mean they were the same indigenous peoples of Brazil in life. These spiritual guides have evolved throughout their incarnations and today practice charity and offer protection as entities of the Linha das Matas.

Their presence inspires practitioners to overcome obstacles with bravery and resilience, always in harmony with nature and spiritual forces.

Since its phalanges receive the vibration of other Orixás. In this way we have Exús and Pombas-Giras who work in the vibration of Xangô, Ogum, Iansã and other Orixás
About the Guardians
The Exús, Pombas Giras and Exús Mirins are also known as the “Street People”, and this name is attributed due to the rescues carried out by these spirits in the service of those who are afflicted by disembodiment in deserted places, on the streets or helpless.
Exu is the Guardian of our paths, the one who makes us strong when there is nothing else to be done. It is to him that we ask for protection and opening of paths. There is no path without Exu to guide and protect us. Furthermore, Exu is associated with the energy of communication.
Pombagira is the energy of vitality, and is the feminine vibration of Exu. They also represent protection, strength, and opening paths. Pombagiras, like Exu, work to rescue the disembodied in need of assistance.
Exú Mirim are the enchanted beings in the Guardian Line; they were not incarnated spirits like the Exús, Pombagiras, and Malandros. They are considered a more playful manifestation of Exú\'s energy, with characteristics reminiscent of children or mischievous young people.
Malandro/Malandra is a line of work that is treated in many different ways across the various branches of Umbanda. In our House, they work in the Left line, as we understand that this line acts as a great support in assisting spirits with low vibrations who need help (both incarnate and discarnate), helping those who need to rid themselves of negative energies.

Boiadeiros Line
Nutrition is the biochemical and physiological process by which an organism uses food to support its life. It includes ingestion, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism and excretion. The science that studies the physiological process of nutrition is called nutritional science. Organisms primarily provide themselves with carbon in one of two ways: autotrophy and heterotrophy. Combined with the source of energy, either light or chemical, there are four primary nutritional groups for organisms.
About the Boiadeiros
The spirits who work in the Boiadeiros line represent a life of struggle and effort. They share practical wisdom, always reminding us of the importance of facing difficulties with patience, persistence, and respect for nature. This line of work assists in the work of breaking demands. There are Umbanda houses where this line can be considered an auxiliary line, without consulting mediums, but this is not a rule.
Although many Boiadeiros did not work directly with cattle in their previous incarnations, their spiritual journey led them to this path, where they provide charity and protection. Representing the strength, freedom, and determination of the people of the backlands, they bring with them an energy of courage and resilience, helping to ward off negative influences with their spiritual cleansing work in the terreiros.

The spirits that work in this line are under the vibration of the Orixá Oxalá, although their phalanxes receive the vibration of other Orixás, such as Iemanjá, Obaluaê, Ogum, among others.
About the Baianos and Baianas
The Baianos symbolize the spirit of resilience, representing humble and hard-working people who, even in the face of adversity, radiate joy and strength. They are close and welcoming entities, linked to the Soul Line (Pretos Velhos), as they also bring wise and comforting advice, in addition to performing work to unburden and break spiritual demands with their vibrant and powerful energy.
The entities of the Bahian Line are not necessarily spirits of people born in the Northeast region of Brazil. Their spiritual evolution led them to work in this line, where they offer charity, advice, and protection.
Marujada
The Sailors\' Line, also known as Marujada, is composed of Guides who work in this line and are under the vibration of the Orixá Iemanjá, although their phalanxes can also resonate with the energy of other Orixás, such as Oxalá, Oxum, Xangô, among others.
About Sailors
They are fraternal and welcoming entities that share messages of hope and courage. Their language is simple and filled with maritime symbolism. They often remind us of the importance of acting with faith and trust, encouraging us to explore the unknown, whether within ourselves or in the world around us.
This line of work eliminates very dense negative energies, such as pain generated by affliction and suffering, as it performs a process that purifies and energetically rebalances the environment by transporting these negative energies to Calunga Maior (sea).

The Children of the Wind
The Gypsy People\'s Line represents freedom, joy, and wisdom, characteristics that permeate the work of these spiritual guides. All guides in this line are under the vibration of Saint Sara Kali, patron saint of the Gypsy People, bringing an energy of transformation and renewal that inspires those who seek her counsel and protection.
About the Gypsy People
The Gypsy People\'s line of work is one of the most recent in Umbanda, many strands do not work with this line, there is still another strand that includes the Gypsy People in the Eastern Line, and there is a diversity of Gypsy Giras formats.
Umbanda is pluralistic, with its foundations, which must be respected so that the discipline required by the spiritual world can sustain spiritual work. Thus, we have Umbanda Giras with music, bonfires, and abundant decorations reminiscent of a Gypsy encampment. However, the Gypsy People in the Umbanda House should never be confused with the Gypsies, who still cultivate their culture and traditions today.
Also called the Children of the Wind, the Guides who work in this line use the gypsy deck, but not all mediums use this element. This line of thought allows Guides to bring knowledge of magic to obtain prosperity, love, and abundance. But none of this is possible without faith.
